Social Media Toolkit

At Lactalis Foodservice, we love inspiring cafés and restaurants to bring fresh ideas to their menus. But what good is it if you can’t share it with the world?

Lactalis Foodservice has created a handy social media toolkit to help maximise the impact of your followers and attract new ones.

First thing’s first, you need to set some goals for what you want to achieve with your social media. Think about who your target audience is, how you want people to know about your business, and why potential customers would want to ‘follow’ your business.

Then pick a platform: Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Each have their advantages. Research shows 36 per cent of Australians follow brands they like, and 31 per cent use social media when seeking more information about a brand or product.

With this in mind, there’s plenty of incentive to get active on socials. Build your audience with organic or paid content. Frequent posts must be consistent with relevant content. Think about conducting competitions, using hashtags and links to your website. Try sponsoring images, partnering with influencers or chefs, incorporating user generated content or using polls to ask what your audience wants to see. When you’re feeling more confident, try going ‘live’ with video stream and using IGTV and hashtags to create recipe or behind the scenes content.

If the social media world seems a bit daunting, don’t despair, Lactalis Foodservice’s social media toolkit will guide you through your social media journey with best practice advice, tips on how to measure your success, and what times of the day and week are the best and worst to post. We even share examples on how to post and the lingo to use to ensure you’re making the most of each of the ‘big three’ social platforms. You’ll be social savvy in no time.
